I'm Karen (KJ)!  I was in your shoes.  I had inched up to 189lbs. I promised myself I would not gain another pound. I kept that promise! 

It took me years to start showing signs of illness and years of acquiring symptoms before

I no longer recognized myself in the mirror. I was heavier, my entire body ached, I had a puffy, round face, and I had lost my spark. I no longer had the energy to love my husband, my kids, take care of my home and to do the thing I absolutely loved, figure skating.  I had to dig deep, to muster all the energy I could just to get out of bed in the morning. My life was not supposed to be like this, and I chose to fight for the life I dreamed of. 

I was fortunate enough to come across a doctor who told me what I suspected. 

After walking out on what I estimate to be close to 20 endocrinologist offices, I was fortunate enough to come across a doctor who told me what I suspected. She explained that "the system" would not allow her to run the tests that she felt I needed. That "the system" would not allow her to prescribe what she thought I could use. I walked out of her office with hope, for the first time in years. She had shared links on integrative, naturopathic and functional medicine.
